It’s prized for its purity, mild scent, and high-quality fatty acid profile—but it's also harder to source and more expensive than regular beef fat. See the difference here. When sourcing for our products, we specifically ask farms whether the fat is true kidney suet or just general beef fat. Most provide standard beef fat, even though many brands still label it as “suet.” Unless a brand intentionally seeks out true suet, it’s unlikely that’s what they’re using.Using true suet results in a cleaner, more luxurious tallow with better skin benefits. The quality of the raw fat directly impacts the quality of the final balm.
